Prospectus: "Response Art Series"
The Art Response Series will educate artists in different theories of support for Israel and will serve to encourage artists to create and exhibit work inspired directly by their attendance of at least one of five lectures designated by this series. This project’s aim is to create art work which supports the right of Israel to exist. Artists are invited to use the lectures as inspiration to create new art work in an array of media. The theme may be broadly interpreted from an activist, political or personal context to connect to the viewer.
Eligibility: Open to all artists. Work must not have been previously exhibited and must be new and inspired by the lectures.
Eligibility and Restrictions: The competition is open to all artists, national and international, working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art, video, etc. are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Wall mounted works must not be taller than 80" no wider than 50". Sculptural work must fit through a standard height, 36"wide entry door.
Submissions: All 2D and 3D submissions may be made online at [email protected] or by mail.
Entry Dead Line: Friday, April 15th, by 11:59 PM PST.
Exhibition Terms: All works in the show must be for sale. Artists 4 Israel will take a 50 percent commission on all sales. Sale price is determined by the artist. Payment to the artist will be mailed within 30 days after receipt of proceeds from sales.
Mini Exhibitions are all inclusive to participating artists who register.
Jurors: Panel of professionals in the art world with a broad range of expertise, to be announced.
Entry Fees
There is a $30.00 entry fee for one to three artworks entered, in each mini exhibition, presentation is by digital file only. Sculptors may provide additional views of their work. Artists will not be charged additional fees of any kind. Payments may be by check or money order payable to Artists 4 Israel.

Acceptance For Juried Exhibition
Notification of acceptance of work will be made via e-mail on April 30th 2011, or mailed on that date for entries without e-mail information.
Mandatory Specifications and Guidelines for the On-line Submissions and Mail-In Submissions:
· Provide an artist statement about each specific work(s) you are submitting and its relevance to
The Lecture you attended “Response Art Series”. Description is limited to 530 words.
· Name your JPG files = Artist’s last name + Title. Example Smith_funhouse2
· All images must be submitted in JPEG form.
· Submit JPG images sized approximately 4” x 6” at 300 dpi resolution. In order to upload
Successfully, images must be at least 1200 pixels wide. The maximum uploadable file size is 8
megabytes. High resolution images are requested for print publicity of accepted works.
· Provide dimensions of each piece as follows: Height x Width x Depth. Indicate whether inches or
feet.
· Once you make payment you cannot change your information or replace the image
you submitted. Make sure all your information is correct.
· If you have three-dimensional work and would like to submit more than one view of that piece,
you may either submit one image that combines multiple views or submit up to three different
views of your work. Remember to identify multiple views of an entry in your description of work.
Specifications:
· Work must be available for duration of exhibit.
· Artists must hang their own work, if it is not simple by one nail installation.
· Size limit for 2-D work: Wall mounted works must not be taller than 80" no wider than 50"; weight limit: 50lbs.
· 3D work- Artwork can occupy no more than 3' of floor installation space. Artist will have to install.
The artist must install artwork requiring complex installation (to be determined by curator and gallery).
· Video: Artist must supply ALL own equipment.
· Wall-hung work must be suitably framed or in an alternative presentation form and ready to hang.
· All framed artworks must be firmly wired for hanging – no clip frames or saw-tooth hangers. Work
without an appropriate hanging apparatus will be disqualified.
· Entries that do not comply with the rules will be disqualified.
Delivery and Pick up:
· Art work must be hand delivered to each of the mini exhibitions sites, and also for the juried show, if you are selected. Date and time will be announced. The mini exhibitions will take place sometime during the months of April and May 2011. The Juried exhibition will take place during the month of May or June 2011.
· Work that does not arrive by the announced time will not be included in exhibition.
· Artist 4 Israel is not responsible for damage..
· Artists are responsible to pick up their own work or for arranging pick up on day to be announced after the mini exhibitions, at time to be announced.
· Following the close of the exhibition, hand-delivered works should be picked up on date to be announced.
· Artist 4 Israel is not liable for artwork left beyond the date of pick up and all artwork left will
become property of Artist 4 Israel.
Sales/Insurance
Artist 4 Israel will retain at least 50% commission. Work remains the property of the artist until sold. Sold artworks shall remain in the exhibition until the last day of the show. All exhibited works need to be self insured by the artist. Sold works may be picked up after each mini exhibition at a date and time to be announced in connection to each show. If selected for the juried show art work must be available to be exhibited for the duration of the Juried exhibition dates to be announced. Checks for sold works will be sent via mail to the artist within 30 days of the close of the exhibitions.
Publicity:
Artist 4 Israel may use images of artwork accepted into the exhibition for publicity purposes.
One or more artworks may be chosen for the cover design of invitation for the exhibition. They may also be featured on www.artist4israel.org. Artists agree to allow reproduction of their digital files and/or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity, and archival purposes.

AGREEMENT & RELEASE
By submitting this application and payment, the Artist confirms he or she has read and agrees to the conditions set forth in this prospectus for 'Response Art Series.' Permission is granted to A4I to use images of artwork accepted into the exhibition for publicity purposes. One or more artworks may be chosen for the cover design of invitation for the exhibition. They may also be featured on www.Art4Israel.org. Artists agree to allow reproduction of their digital files and/or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity, and archival purposes. The Artist hereby releases and discharges representatives, employees and volunteers of Artist 4 Israel from any and all claims occasioned by loss or damages of said work while in the possession of Artist 4 Israel.
